Jon

Jon David

Jon David has always been fascinated by radio aka the wireless! Listening to serials and plays on the wireless was one of his favourite occupations as a child.. Raised on a diet of Beatles tunes and the rebellious vibes of UK pirate radio stations, Jon stumbled upon country music in the '80s like a cowboy finding a misplaced tumbleweed. And let me tell ya, he hasn't looked back since – well, maybe just to check if his mullet is still hanging on. While others dabbled in thespian pursuits, Jon's heart was always set on radio.
Rumor has it, he once tried to incorporate Shakespearean soliloquies into a country music segment, but folks preferred yodeling to iambic pentameter. Can't blame 'em!
Back in the '80s, Jon cut his radio teeth at a local station, where he hosted everything from boot-scootin' music shows to nail-biting quiz extravaganzas. Legend has it that he once quizzed a posse of cowboys on the difference between a lasso and a bolo tie, and the results were wilder than a rodeo clown on espresso. But that's not all, folks! Jon's career path meandered through various odd jobs – from wrangling lemmas (that's right, lemmas, not llamas) to riding the range in Texas, Colorado, and even the mysterious wilds of the New Forest. It has been hinted at that he once tamed a wild herd of radio frequencies using nothing but a lasso made from old guitar strings.
Now, as our Program Controller, Jon brings a wealth of country wisdom and a sense of humor so sharp, it could cut through a steel guitar solo. He's got more country jokes than there are pickup trucks in Nashville and a laugh that can make even the grumpiest armadillo crack a smile. So, next time you're tuned in and hear a hearty chuckle followed by a twangy guitar riff, you know Jon's in the saddle, steering the country airwaves like a cowboy riding a particularly enthusiastic bull. Hold onto your Stetsons, folks – the Honky-Tonk Maestro is about to take you on a rootin'-tootin' musical rodeo!
